PLAYSTATION3 SALES DISASTER CELEBRATORY DESKTOP IMAGE SERIES, #2
Courtesy of the Southport branch of GAME. It’s ANOTHER unauthorised sign that head office needs to crack down on immediately:
LIVE REPORT: “This picture is from the GAME shop in Southport, Merseyside, taken on PS3 launch day, Friday 23rd March 2007 at 12:59pm. Good to see they have over 12k of stock waiting for some non-existent buyers. What’s more interesting is the fact they are trying to flog some insurance as well, just in case you accidentally drop the PS3 on purpose – a bargain at 34.99 – although their spelling of peace is a bit dubious – Rastrus.”
Even Shenmue’s Tomato Store is struggling.

“Rastrus”? Are you related to THE Rastrus?

“First”.

I really don’t mind seeing the failure of Sony’s chav console being milked. It needs to be done.
When you take on a Rancor you don’t just wedge its mouth open with a bone, you stove its head in with a twenty ton fucking door! That’ll get some fat grubby circus loser all teary-eyed…
I’ve gone too far with Star Wars analogy haven’t I?

Shenmue reference: Instant win.

That presumes that in a couple of years it’ll cost you more than 35 pounds for a brand spanking new PS3 after all the rebates Sony will be forced to offer to move its rubbish off store shelves.

OK ENUF. We’ve won. To continue on nick’s excellent Star Wars analogy we have officially reached the point where we’re just stirring Rancor chunks with a stick.
Fewer posts about what shit Sony is, more posts about how excellent Excite Truck is pls.

I was in Tomato Store the other day playing the lucky dip. I won top prize but instead of a Radio Cassette player the cheeky cow tried giving me a PS3 instead. I used my Pit Blow move to get Hang On and Space Harrier instead.

Yes! That’s two things I have had featured on UK:R now. The Shenmue pic was mine.

Re the shop sign, “piece of mind”…jesus h.
How many more illiterates are allowed to write such posters, oh hang on, we’re talking people that work in retail aren’t we…
Great Shenmue gag BTW

That’s right, give them a peace of your mind.

The Vee: I work in retail. Don’t label us all as illiterate twats. Let’s just label Game’s employees as them instead.

lol – the shenmue pic was a stroke of genius!

The sign outside the shop looks like it has been digitally tampered with. The 74 and the L are at different angles to the rest of the letters.
The argos pictures are a journo masterstorke in my opinion, but the first sign of fakers jumping on the bandwagon is perhaps a signal to ring the bell for last orders and find a new angle of attack.

@ Phorenzic
Sorry mate, there are always exceptions, group hug.
GAME employees. Cunts. Fact.

What a dick.
Time to buy some specs.

I wouldn’t worry about it, when I first looked it I thought it was the old picture of an ex-Sega arcade someone posted a few months ago.
I wondered why the news agents had turned into a tomato shop (and if that was a brand of shop, like Cost Cutter, or if it was an independant shop with a stupid name) and how much the photograph reminded me of a street in Shenmue.
That’s probably a sign I don’t go outside enough.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with anyone’s eyes. I think it’s more a sign that Shenmue was fucking awesome and that the graphics were way ahead of anything you could do on the PS2 because Sega actually put a decent amount of VRAM into their console.

Much more interesting and also a lot cheaper than a second rate over priced over rated console.

Word Verification Bru-Lay Japanese for bad investment.

Perhaps Game’s employees are just really big Iron Maiden fans.

“JVC said…
“Rastrus”? Are you related to THE Rastrus?”
That sounds ominous.
