This:

It’s called Wappy.

Here’s the press release that I stole from somewhere. It’s either been written by someone who’s primary language isn’t English, or Google translate’s been employed.

“Sega has made a new Toys which is shaped like a puppy. They named the toys ‘Nintendo Wappy Dog’. This robotic puppy will be released along with Nintendo DS game console. This toy able to interact with the video game and move by itself. It can response your voice and gesture moving and glowing their body into different lights color which are placed on the Wappy Dog’s cheeks and eyes. Sega Wappy Dog has equipped with Wappy-technology which can response sound like the beeps and other noises that produced when you are playing your video game. UK RESISTANCE DEV TOOL

It’s probably my turn to do one one of these types of updates so here goes….

Game developers. Here’s a handy colour picker for you to use when you’re creating your games. I’ve even included the hexadecimal codes because I know you have tight deadlines.

The rules are simple. For every dark colour used, you must use 3 lovely light/pastel colours.

Try to keep the browns and greys to a minimum please.

UK RESISTANCE UPDATE GENERATOR

Can someone with a working knowledge of WordPress create some sort of autoexec file to put one of these up every day, along with a random image taken from the Google Image Search results page for “SEGA cosplay”.

Don’t take the image from the first 20 results. Take it from the bit you have to scroll down to see. We are edgy like that.

That was alarmingly easy to make :(

THINGS SEGA ARE DOING THAT AREN’T SHENMUE 3!

Number 1: Making a road crossing for hedgehogs:

Sega have teamed up with the People’s trust for endangered species to spunk away a (probably) MASSIVE amount of money on making a crossing to help hedgehogs navigate the roads more safely.

Now, I like hedgehogs as much as the next man, unless the next man’s a gypsy, however, I can’t help but feel that Sega’s money could be better spent elsewhere.

The money they’re wasting on this would pay Shenmue’s Tom’s voice actor a year’s wage!

Other things this money would be better suited to:

Re-making Streets of Rage

Re-making Shinobi

Making more of a fucking effort with Sonic games

SPACE CHANNEL 5 PART TWO

Good lord, in the year 2010 we are looking at screenshots of Ulala and it isn’t a cameo in some shite novelty motion controlled fitness game. It is a remake, but that’s OK. It’s not 4v4 online war and for that we are grateful.

YOU’RE A CASH MACHINE, A STUPID CASH MACHINE

This is the sort of miserable thing you stumble over when having to write about Nintendo products as part of a job. Products like this exist so THE MAN can tell his shareholders the dividend will be 0.5p per share higher this years thank to innovative launches in the lifestyle space.

It’s the Hori Remote Stand. It’s a box with a logo on, yours for approximately 500% what it cost to get 10,000 of them made and shipped over.

Wonder if it comes with instructions?

PHOTOS OF SOPHIE ELLIS-BEXTOR WE ARE ALLOWED TO USE

Can’t get in trouble for having these photos of Sophie sitting in clear view on the desktop, as she’s doing something about and for video games. There’s an Xbox logo and everything. We’d be allowed to print these out, even.

sophie-kinect 1

Nice, but no shoes. We can’t construct an elaborate but believable fantasy scenario about meeting her at a press event and things leading to other things without knowing what…

sophie-kinect 2

…that’s better. Black ones. Shame you can’t see the toes but at least there’s a small amount on instep on offer. She probably would’ve charged extra for showing toes. Here’s the press release as a thank you to Microsoft.

EXCLUSIVE: DREAMCAST 2.0 TO BE FULLY V.90 MODEM COMPLIANT

Reader “Matt” has provided our first look at the hardware design of the upcoming Dreamcast 2.0, also confirming initial launch software plans and the console’s connectivity options.

Yes, we are now the UK’s #1 online care resource for the mental. When no one else listens to you or looks at your photographs and videos or clicks on the like button when you say something… “You could always try UKR.”

dc2proto2

Shouldn’t really be contacting you like this but it feels as though some people are abandoning all hope of DC 2.0.

I can’t reveal everything, but I have attached a couple of shots of the current prototype including some of the AWESOME new controller types.

I can confirm the following:

– DC2 will be available as hardware or as an iPhone App.
– DC2 will feature a fully V.90 compliant 56k modem.
– DC2 is compatible with both the CDTV and the CD32.
– DC2 will employ an improved version of the original VMU featuring a full colour 14″ CRT display.

Unconfirmed speculation:

– Terrier Games may be approached to supply launch title.
– Final case design could be sought from Pininfarina.
– Sony have voiced concerns over their inevitable crushing defeat.

That’s all I can risk saying right now.

Thanks Matt! We’ll be along with your mashed banana and the feeding tube shortly. This picture is a surprisingly realistic vision of what we imagine most people’s gaming set-ups actually look like today.

THE BAYONETTA WOMAN IN HIGH DEFINITION

Can anyone beat 1271 x 2285 @240dpi, taken with a Canon EOS 5D Mark II?

bayonetta-woman-hd

“I’m aware that she has been posted about quite a bit already, but most of the photos are generally rubbish so here is a decent one I took at E3. In all fairness she’s probably one of the most exciting things that has appeared with regards SEGA in some time :<" - Chris.
