Wii RAPE ALARM: MICRO DIRECT WANTS 352 QUID
The thieving gypsy scum over at Micro Direct are charging 352 quid for the standard pack. With no free games. This would appear to be a new global record for shamelessness.
Nintendo is holding you down and keeping your arms out of the way, while Micro Direct is unbuttoning itself and preparing for action.
Incredibly it is “sold out.”

I wouldn’t recommend anyone buy anything from the cunts at Micro Direct even if they were flogging the Wii for 50p. They’re thieving bastards who won’t give you a refund unless you take them to small claims court (which I did, and won).

Is there such a shortage in the UK? The stock has been piled up here in Austria since the 2nd or 3rd shipments started arriving after launch.

they are total and utter wankers if you ever have a problem with something you’ve bought off them.
But where else is there in manc? I won’t buy PC components online anymore, overclockers are even bigger twats, but at a distance so you can’t even go in and shout at them when they fuck you over.
xzahkl – sounds like me with my cold at the moment

You could buy from Aria or Gladiator – they’re both in Manchester, and on the same road too. Shame they’re both utter, utter shite, Aria especially.

Luvbeers, nobody in the UK has cottoned on to the fact the Wii has fewer than two worthwhile games and all things considered is only slightly more fun than sticking your face in a dog’s bottom. I bought a Wii last Christmas with four controllers and some crazy fucked-up rabbit game, and having used it no more than four or five times throughout the year, I’m planning to flog it on eBay during panic week next month.

I originally bought my wii from amazon Germany (who sell them for 248euros ~ £150). However, they now no longer ship them to the UK. I smells a rat capt’n.. perhaps those charlatans in brussels should have a look regarding this free trade stuff within europe.

The last two times I’ve tried to flog games at CEX they’ve had no money left due to buying Wiis off people. That’s their priority apparently – Game down the road gets a new batch in, people who have pre-ordered get theirs, bring it down to CEX and flog it for a profit, using up all their cash. So everyone’s paying £270 for a Wii instead of £170, and I can’t flog Orcs & Elves on the DS.

To be fair to stockists charging ridiculous prices it’s more down to the distributors using the demand to hike up prices than the shops themselves.
The shortage has got to the point that Nintendo are putting private planes full of Wii’s on to the U.K. to try and alieviate the problem.
I was one of the losers who queued up in Argos for one on launch last year. I still feel like a loser but now I’m a slightly smug loser with foresight.
