NEW NiGHTS: THE GOOD AND BAD
We will leave you to decide which of the following things is “the good” and which one is “the bad.”
Which one is the bad?
Is it this? The dreamy PAL box art which looks lovely and just like the Dreamcast box art we spent several years imagining appearing on Gamespress?
Or is this the bad thing, in which NiGHTS speaks and seems to have the voice of a small girl? It’s NiGHTS and SEGA so we’re not allowed to be negative. Not even in private or inside our heads.

Nights was a charming amazing experience because of it’s simple approach to story and characters. What the hell is this embarrassing bullsh!t.

It’s already obvious that Sega machines were -and are- the only ones able to support legends such as Sonic or Nights properly.

Sega looks to be able to ruin all of their best franchises. It’s amazing how consistently they can do that. Fuck, if you gave Sony the rights to the Sega franchises it’d probably be better. There, I said it. And I meant it.

Damn, saying this makes me cry tears of blood, but this game looks awfully ugly !
How come, even the first Pandemonium had better textures !!
Gosh, screw you, Sega !

Is the evil nights guy voiced by James Woods?

Was NiGHTS a girl in the Saturn game? I only had the Japanese version so I never read the instruction manual. But looking at that cover for the game, NiGHTS does look like he/she has a larger than normal chest area. Perhaps NiGHTS is a tranny?
I can’t wait to see what Sega to do Ryu when they make Shenmue III. Perhaps Lan-Di can castrate him so he can have a “cutesy” high-pitched cartoon voice too.
Word verification: bzuutol- a kind of toilet bleach?

I find it hard to believe that they think people like this, or more likly why they’re always doing them for kiddies.
They need to do a carbon copy of that Conkers but with Sonic.
Sonic would be boss calling people motherfuckers and Asda Extra Special Bandits.

They tried to “mature” the Sonic games. It was called Shadow, it had guns and it sucked.
Conker only worked because he was a new character. Changing an existing one to match that won’t work.

I am almost in tears.
Oh god, this is awful. Simply awful. And Reala’s redesign looks freaking ugly as well.
I will buy the game nonetheless in the hope that at least the gameplay hasn’t been fagged up entirely.

From that box-art it looks more like NiGHTS – Journey Into Westminster.

Would it be about Shadow the Hedgehog with guns saying DAMN every other word?
I do not think that would be as good as you think it would be.

“Is it this? The dreamy PAL box art which looks lovely and just like the Dreamcast box art we spent several years imagining appearing on Gamespress?”
Considering NiGHTS was never on Dreamcast, I’d say no.

Nights was very abstract. It wasn’t about giving personality to everything, with voices etc….
The way Sega have tried to make the design more “Kiddy Cartoon Show” … is very sad.
Nights sounds ridiculous. Why does he sound like a middleclass 10-year-old from Surrey???
What ever the reason: woman designer, moron designer, producers messing around? …. It’s a tragic choice.
Things like this fuel the debate: “Games were better in the 90s/80s”
:( Another reason to feel sad.

Trunks, I have no idea what you’re saying. He didn’t say it was on the Dreamcast.
