EXCLUSIVE: SEGA EUROPE *CONFIRMS* EXISTENCE OF SATURN II
Finally, the cat is out of the bag! Fanta leaked the news last week, now SEGA has released the following official image of Saturn II:
Taken from SEGA Europe’s amazing Flickr pages. That’s OFFICIAL CONFIRMATION of the existence of Saturn II by SEGA. Review units should be out in the next couple of months, prior to what is clearly a winter 2008 release.

YES! That’s definitely genuine and not at all drawn on with one of those silver ink pens.

I’ve been told that each saturn 2 will be shipped with a bag of dust, so you can spread it all over the console. Posthumous homage, they said.

Excellent! I’d be more excited about the Fanturn but I’ve not unplugged my original Saturn or Dreamcast since I bought them. Time to fire the Saturn up for some celebratory Bulk Slash I think.

@capt. Jax – We would NEVER deface a SEGA Saturn with a silver ink pen; we’re much more creative than that.
@photoboy – are you an insider or was it just a lucky guess?

I’m an insider man, I’ve been play-testing Fantona USA, Panzer Dragoon Fanta and Radiant Silverfanta all month.

So, having successfully pissed off the Planetside community with their adverts everywhere, Fanta are now moving into making their own consoles?
Excellent. I haven’t been this happy since all the 7up and Cheetos platformers on the SNES.

@photoboy: Don’t you mean “Fanta Dragoon”?
Also IT’S ALL A LIE

The precious Fanturn is nothing but an Xbox 360 Elite and a 40GB PlayStation 3 (ironically labelled as “games console” in the faq!
Clearly the artist must have been ashamed of having to draw such ugly bricks and chose to imitate the Saturn’s sleek, stylish lines instead. Or if one wins said prizes, they’re instead sent a SEGA Saturn with the notice that it’s the superior console anyway, with a lot more and better games than the 360 or the PS3!
Good thing I have my white Japanese Saturn to help me over this utterly unexpected and mind-shattering revelation.

Is this some kind of joke?
Whoever did that (looking at you, Captain Jax), you could’ve at least cleaned up that Saturn a bit, it’s the least it deserves. I’m surprised Sega Europe even allows such a dusty Saturn to frequent its (assumingly) squeaky-clean corridors.
I’m sure there’s at least one poor sod at Sega Europe who has to brush his teeth at work, just use his toothbrush. He’s probably such a big cunt that he won’t even notice.
But that Fanta logo looks so lovingly-crafted, it really does.
If it were up to me, I’d have gone with the earlier model saturn, with the scarier black buttons. The grey buttons just make it look like a big twat.
But the Fantona USA pic is pure genius. I love it dearly and am at this very moment imagining the Daytona guy actually singing the Fantona USA song:
Fantooonaaaaa let’s go away…

Why is Sega *Europe* using a North American copy of Fantona? THEY ARE IGNORING THEIR OWN REGION CODING!

I certainly hope this doesn’t all turn out to be some kind of joke.

I heard that the saturn 2 has the power of ten tigers!
thats beats the competition hands down!
May 25th, 2008 on 11:08 am
TEN TIGERS?
That’s LOADS of tigers!
Ten tigers is all well and good, but it’d be a nightmare to program that many tigers, let alone optimise the threads to get any sort of graphical prowess to scare the opposition.
Wait a sec…

I wish I had seen this before nagging my parents into pre-ordering an Um Bongo Box. :(
