PS3 LIE WATCH: AN UPDATE REGARDING UK SALES FIGURES
Back in January of this year, Sony earned “column inches” by boasting that that PlayStation3 had overtaken Xbox 360 in parts of Europe and was selling at “three times” the rate of Microsoft’s console. We have reproduced the quote for you here:
“…the team here expect to overtake the installed base of Xbox 360 across all PAL territories in late summer,” David Reeves, Sony Europe, January 24 2008.
However, retailer GAME has just revealed official UK sales data which shows Sony has sold 1.4 million PS3s in the UK, compared to Microsoft’s 2.3 million Xbox 360s. That is a VERY LARGE GAP and not what even the wildest of statisticians would consider a close battle.
It is certainly not three times as many. It is more like loads less.
Do not trust this man, anyone on his pay roll or people that transcribe his interviews.

His quote does say across all PAL territories, Zorg, GAME is just reporting the UK figures. Don’t get desperate to create anti-sony news with lies which aren’t lies. There are plenty of easy ways you can twist this news to your advantage, this site is UK resistance, and the UK has resisted PS3 with admirable strength. That should be enough of a victory for today.

PS3’s no way winning across Europe. We know PS3 is doing well in the Benelux regions, possibly even selling in double figures some weeks (not to mention the Luxembourg lead) but I doubt it’s enough to outweigh the UK.
It comes to something when Sony’s really desperate to be better than third place.

Anti-Sony stuff is all to be expected, but when it’s followed directly by, “Win this 360 stuff!” or “Check out Microsoft’s latest version of their phone OS!” (when the iPhone had just been released), then you know the bedroom flavour lept out the window years ago. You know when it’s less about backing Sega (who, last time I recall, make games on the PS3 as well) and more about hating on your new favourite machine’s competition that you have to abandon the sinking ship.

I thought the PS3 was meant to last longer than the third reich … well into the next millennium! So now is not the time for the PS4 … (although Kuturagi is probably in his nursing home already planning the most complicated/ expensive slab of plastic the world will ever see). Anyhow Sony don't yet have a new format ('Yello-Ray' anyone?) to flog yet.
Shame about the grubby marks on the PSP, it happens to mine when I watch Pink Paradise on UMD, but then again I don't have the benefit of the wank stand that Jackie boy seems to have in his office. Shame on him, he has no excuse for such a grubby machine.
