THE SUM-TOTAL OF A MAN’S LIFE
A few tatty books and some toys. When the cleaner from the council turns up to emotionlessly throw it all in a skip after the owner’s passing, he will not understand their true meaning or worth.
“Last week I was ordered to go through a few boxes of crap I’d left around my parent’s house and decide what I wanted to keep since they’re moving. There wasn’t much I was bothered about but I picked these up because I thought you might be interested in them.”
“If not in the actual items, at least in not having to find an update for a day. Hell, since there’s two different things, this could mean a couple of days off!”
“First, I found some books. They’re the novels written by Martin Adams. I think my favourite thing about these is the little flip-book animation in the top right of the pages. Well, that and Sonic’s eyes on the cover of ‘Silicon Warriors’.”
“There’s a 4th book too, ‘in Robotnik’s Castle’, which I’m sure I’ve read but can’t find anywhere. I’m thinking I might have borrowed it off a friend. I’ve included the back covers so you can read the synopsis”.
“Next we have a box of Sonic and Metal Sonic minitures; origin unknown (I think they might have been a ticket collection item at Sega World).”
“They came painted poorly and the Sonic on the far right can’t stand up on his own. I quite like the Metal Sonic though, it looks like someone at least tried to make an effort with him” – Ian.
Thanks, Ian. Sorry for suggesting you’ll die alone and the council will have to come and clear away your possessions because they need to rent the house to someone else. We’ve just run out of ways to introduce sets of photos of SEGA items.
And that Mecha Sonic IS nice. No man who owns a Mecha Sonic that cool will die alone.
You’ll die surrounded by 27 cats.

Damn, that Sonic standing on the left looks in a bad way. He looks like he’s somehow accidentally eaten an entire bag of speed in one go and now he’s sitting in his Nanna’s living room, listening to all the usual stories again (and again) and trying not to scream and punch himself int he face at 800MHz

I’m going to wire a heart monitor up from myself to my computer so when I die it securely deletes all the porn… and gasses all the slaves in the sex dungeon.
Maybe I’ll be able to wire up some automatic cat flap so the 27 cats can get out too.
I hope the council worker who finds my Saturn Navi and Dreamcast Maziora doesn’t throw them on the skip.

Wonder what Sonic’s trying to look at with his left eye on the silicon warriors cover?
Obviously his right eye is keenly watching tails get a nice hug off a t-1000 but what’s above him and to the left that’s caught his (left) eye?
Gotta love that they used the classic desert/blue sky chrome though regardless of the surrounding scenery, surely that’s gotta be a feature? Looking at things where that blue-sky/desert chrome effect’s been used rather than proper ray-tracing the surroundings?
Has that been done on the internet yet?
Surely that’s whole new blog in itself?
Also, looking at the figures, does Sonic normally have 3 rows of spines, like Godzilla? And what’s with the Hall-of-Mirrors Sonic on the left?

Oh my God, those figures are incredible. Why did I buy those new ones when these old ones are so obviously superior?
I had two of those books, as well, the Fourth Dimension and Robotnik’s Laboratory ones. They’re probably not as good as I remember them being. I had a bunch of those adventure books too, now they were class.

Were these things painted by feet?

I can’t find the figures anywhere now…

Damn those Sonic figures are cool… They look endearingly retarded.
If you’re worried about dying alone, I’ll come live with you (when my dad finally kicks me out). I could make myself useful and walk the cats or dust your Sonic figures or something. I’m not doing any sex stuff, though.

I love that you can make out the pixels on the title font of those books. I think it’s the same font that old Apple computers used.

You won’t die alone. There is a girl out there for you who makes sugar biscuits in the shape of Tails at Christmas every year. Some very shy gamer girl I met on the internet told me the other day that she would die bitter and alone on account of being shy. And I said hey I got a Bluemars beta invite you should play that and pretend things are cool in that game next. I wonder if I should have said no you won’t die alone it’s ok.

I like the book about Sonic in the 4th dimension. A book about Sonics activities in the 3rd dimension would just give kids nightmares. Please mommy make shadow the hedgehog stop!

‘Silicon Warriors’ appears to be a book about that shit Sonic statue from Sega Europe headquarters or wherever it was. Presumably it’s about him being thrown in a skip and replaced with a chrome Tails statue, which also explains what Sega did with all their hardware money. A harrowing read, for sure…
