“MY WIFE PROBABLY SPENT ABOUT 2 TO 3 YEARS ON THIS”
Time well spent. Hopefully she took regular dinner-making breaks.

“I feel really bad pointing this out, but her cross stitch has a bug!
See, back in the day, most emulators fucked up the sprite layering on the Sonic 1 title screen. From what I understand, some hardware limitation permitted the Genesis/Mega Drive to only display so many sprites per scanline, and the title screen exploited this. Unless such a limit is superficially imposed, emulators don’t behave the same way. The result is shown in the cross stitch, where Sonic’s stomach and arms are weirdly draped over the banner instead of being behind it, as you’d expect.
Still, that’s a pretty cool project! If nothing else, now you know a bit of extra history behind the screenshot she worked from.”
