BITS OF THE WORLD THAT STILL HAVE SEGA SYMBOLISM ON DISPLAY: WESTON SUPER MARE
This saves us all ever having to go to Weston-“super”-mare to see how run-down it is. It is, on the International Run Down Scale, run down enough to have Sonic and Mario still on the boards of its game shops.
You can get a grant from the EU to have stuff like this updated.
“Please find attached some photos of Sonic spotted in the wilds of Weston-super-mare, my grim home town.”
“I also took some ‘environmental shots’ to show the quality of the surrounding shops. It’s a classy area of a high-brow town – Lee.”
That’s Weston-super-mare ticked off the list.

Wow, for 70 quid you can get an Aliens vs. Predator spear. I mean, what a bunch of wankers.

Ahhh, Weston.
The amount of money I pumped into arcade machines down there in Mr B’s and the arcade at the bottom of the pier during my childhood is bordering on insanity.
It’s just not the same 20 years on.
Maybe it wasn’t even that good then, but at least the opportunity to play pretty much every Sega arcade game in existence used to sweeten the experience.

“Open 7 Days Week”
– Weston Super Mare: Not making any sense since 1996

Oof, I don’t check UK:R for a while and arrive to see this wretched environ glowering back at me.
…hang on, my well-dodgy PSP came from that shop!
I could take some pictures inside for added authenticity if you like. Lee, we should coordinate!

Sure thing. It’ll make a change from taking battery photos!

the list of systems on the left doesn’t mention any SEGA consoles – not the Dreamcast, not the Saturn, not even the Mega Drive. Disgusting.

Nice jaunty/shit-faced-drunk angle on the GTA4 poster though.

“Disc repair available” – Wow! In the age of USB disks, you can still have floppies “repaired” rather than a) getting with the times or b) chucking them in the bin!

The sign looks very clean.

Surely they mean CD scratch repair?

M.T. Games is not a bad gaff despite the smell, he’s got quite a formidable range of stuff in there. The guy who runs it tried to flog me a Sega Nomad once. It’s one of those slightly dodgy independent game shops that sells ‘Samurai’ swords though that the kids on the estates seem to love, and you can’t pay a visit there without witnessing lads in puffa jackets with weaselly moustaches trying to ‘exchange’ a blatently stolen PS2

I like MT Games. It’s where I got such wonders like a Wii Classic Controller for £9, a Pixar set for £9 and they even had an import copy of Brawl for £42 (though it’s gone now. My missus wouldn’t let me buy it).
And contary to what the photos make out, the shops surrounding it are actually still in business. Must have been a Sunday. :p

The left window of M.T Games is pushing Bully and…’German’ software? Clearly a marketing brainwave.
