SEGA FONT USED TO REPRESENT THINGS THAT ARE OLD AND OF LIMITED INTEREST TO MODERN CONSUMERS…

SHOCK. As far as we’re concerned, a “retro rollback” is having a wank while remembering that lovely woman from Buck Rogers. Then Deanna Troi loses her clothes in a teleportation accident and turns up and etc etc

“Here’s an image for a slow news day months from now. WWEShop.com ran a retro sale, and it looks like someone on their graphics team is a SEGA fan. Hope everyone’s having an enjoyable 2011!” – Josh.

SONIC THE HEDGEHOG “LOUNGE PANT”

From Primark, would you believe [YES, IT IS A SEGA PRODUCT IN 2010, PRIMARK IS WHERE IT BELONGS]. Here’s the scene that greeted reader “Gareth” at 16:00 hours yesterday. Gareth’s given us a lot to work with, here. This is very brave of you, G-Man.

There’s nothing “essential” about Sonic The Hedgehog trousers, Primark. Branded merchandise is definitely a non-essential first-world luxury item, especially when there are still millions of children without access to clean drinking water across the planet. And AIDS and cancer. There’s still AIDS and cancer, Primark. Sort that lot out, then you can start selling your “essential” branded merchandise.

“Apologies for the photo quality, but I never claimed to be professional. I came home from work yesterday to find that someone had left these placed neatly beside my laptop. The zooming effect replicates my point of view upon finding this little gem. I wore it with my Sonic boxers and t-shirt last night. Photos to come?” – Gareth.

CRITICALLY REAPPRAISING THE USEFULNESS OF ‘TAILS’

Thinking about it now with the benefit of hindsight, we always liked Tails best. Particularly the cute little way he used to drop all the rings in the bonus round forcing you to replay the entire game from the beginning, thereby increasing Sonic 2’s replayabilityness rating.

Good on you, Tails.

“Please find attached the most disturbing/arousing Sonic and Tails outfits from the New York Comic Con. I’m almost certain they leave those costumes on during ‘the business’. At least I hope they do” – Ian.

THE SONIC FAN REMIX DEMO IS OUT

Feels very wrong playing a 2D Sonic game on a PC, as PCs are usually associated with MISERY and SHOULDER/NECK PAIN and WORK. But it’s out and you can get it here.

It’s a bit weird, but works. It’s nice watching Sonic standing there while the flowers and butterflies bounce around, if that’s not too gay a way for you to spend a Thursday.

IN-STORE PLAYSTATION MOVE POSTER HOLDER

Sonic’s got himself a little job.

playstation move holder 1

“I visited the Lewisham branch of Gamestation today and it looks like Sony has a new mascot, or rather some form of cardboard sign holder” – Brendan.

Well done, Sonic. Stand there like that for another 10,000 hours and you’ll have worked off the debt to society you built up with that awful 2006 game.

“THIS IS A FAN MADE GAME AND IS IN NO WAY RELATED TO SEGA”

We can tell. We’d actually like to play it.

“There’s a comment summing it up nicely – ‘Sonic Team has to have the only fan base that thinks they’re so incompetent, as to make their games for them'” – Omar.

DREAMCAST 2 CONTROLLER PATENTS DISCOVERED

It’s on the US Patent database and was applied for in 2005 and granted in 2009. So it must be true/real.

“I found conclusive proof of the protracted development of DC2 while browsing a patent site (as you do). I can’t think of anything witty so please feel free to mock me mercilessly” – Neil.

Prefer the one with a clock, if the design process is still ongoing.

THAT’S A LOT OF SCENERY TO GET STUCK ON

If we were in an office environment and in need of an ironic desktop image, this would do for a few days.

Then it’d be back to a self-curated compilation image of Kylie’s ‘Shoe of the Day’ TwitPics.

A MAN WALKS INTO A BAR

It’s come to this. Anyone want to buy a games-related web site with a dwindling readership and a vast back catalogue of nonsense? £50 O.N.O.

“I saw this at a Red Robin restaurant near Chicago. I would also send you a photo of my cat but my iPhone only lets me attach one photo per email. It’s your loss. I’d send you a second email just with the cat photo, but I don’t feel like it” – Joel.

SEGA SPEX PACKAGING UPDATED

The packaging is now white. It was black . That’s today’s news. We’ve put this in the news category. Please link back to this update when re-reporting this exclusive development.

“Hello. I was living out a dull existence until I recently passed a machine that contained these ‘stylish’ SEGA glasses. I was concentrating so hard on taking a picture that I didn’t check what you had to do to win them. Still, if you’re ever around Worcester Bus Terminal, maybe you could check it out?” – Jonn.

WE WANT ONE OF THESE
There’s a personal cheque for £30 up for grabs if anyone can send us one of these to review. Preferably one that hasn’t been used so we don’t have to deal with reader’s ear wax.
