“PRE-ORDER SONIC COLORS AND RECEIVE A SONIC THE HEDGEHOG HAT”

All this promotional activity is coming 15 years too late.

JAMIE OLIVER AIRBRUSHED XBOX 360 CONSOLE

It’s for charity. You’re not allowed to say it’s shit.

You should at least read the description with a serious look on your face. It is for charity. Link submitted by the internet’s popular “Guru Larry.”

THE SEGA ARENA “DREAMING FACTORY”

Via a man who received these from another man, who lives in “Japan”. We have no other relevant or more specific geographic data than that to pass on.

Photos taken with a Nikon E7600, if that helps at all.

Nice sign. We’d buy that off the liquidators.

SONIC 19th BIRTHDAY CONTEST ENTRY

There’s a competition. A reader entered it with this. It’s good work. Skip to 2:10 to see Amy Rose with a taped-up horror head if you can’t be bothered with it all, and maybe turn the sound down if you’re somewhere serious.

“So SEGA is doing a contest to win a trip to Japan where you have to ‘show your passion’ for Sonic The Hedgehog. My friends and I have made a video and thought this may be of – some – interest to you… Maybe” – Fozzcat.

IS IT BETTER THAN:
This.

TJ DAVIS & RICHARD JACQUES – DIAMONDS IN THE SKY

We haven’t copied & pasted the rest of the headline, which says this was actually recorded at a fan festival in 2008. Let’s pretend we filmed this ourselves last Thursday at a private event.

Here’s a video we filmed ourselves at a private event last Thursday. What happened after is too rude to show.

“As Sonic 134567898 observes, ‘T.J. Davis is such a good singer that her singing this will make you cry’. I feel a bit sick. Thanks. Bye” – James.

FURRIES, SONIC AND A THING-GETTING-CLOSER JOKE

If this photograph had a Richard Jacques soundtrack it would be perfect.

furry sonic1

“Kotaku just wrote a shite news story about a Furry convention in America. Of great importance is the Sonic tucked away at the top-right of the image.”

furry sonicrage

“Of more importance is the clearly unhinged man in the middle, deciding when would be the right moment to press the button and end it all. Probably not the most apt date to make such a reference but hey ho” – Chris.

THAT MAN HAS SCANNED IN ANOTHER PAGE FROM ‘RAZE’ MAGAZINE, FEATURING SEGA LCD GAMES

The deal seems to be that the bloke who runs this shop is drip-feeding us interesting articles from a very old games magazine, in return for a link to his shop. He seems to think a link on UKR will make him a wealthy man. He will soon find out otherwise.

And we don’t remember a magazine called Raze. We were only into ACE in 1990.

“Here’s a little one you might like. And at only £24.99 they were a real bargain! This is from Raze magazine in 1990, if you remember that mag” – You Likee.

PEOPLE STILL DRESS UP AS ULALA

These Ulala cosplayers need to update their references. It’s like us going to a fancy dress party as Avon out of Blake’s 7, or Michael Garibaldi. We’re not going to explain what Michael Garibaldi is from, as you ought to KNOW THAT.

A COMPLAINT ABOUT CANADIANS TRYING TO POACH UK DEVELOPMENT TALENT

We like the way random, disenfranchised people occasionally use UKR to vent their rage. This rage is about Canadians boasting about their tax breaks and trying to nick UK staff at a development event.

It’s a bit over our heads, to be honest, but it might annoy a few people and make us a new enemy, and we still like doing that.

canadian passport

“Don’t know whether this news has reached you yet but a lot of us were very fucking pissed off at finding mockup Canadian Passports placed on our seats at this week’s Game Horizon in Newcastle. Put there by sponsor QuickStart Global, inside it listed all the benefits of relocating your British business to Canada – all cheekily packaged as a Canadian passport” – B.

CONTINUED:
“Myself and the other delegates were furious but not knowing the organisers didn’t know who to complain to. Excuse my language but it’s piss poor that with the current brain drain and continuous exodus of firms and talent to Canada that:

“(a) This outrageous poaching would be tolerated at an RDA funded games industry event, and…

“(b) Go unreported.”

SEGA STILL WASTING ITS MONEY ON BIG FOOTBALL SPONSORSHIPS

It’s rumoured to have spent upwards of £250 on sponsoring the Brentford FC Community Sports Trust Summer 2010 Party. Given where SEGA is today, this is about equal to the whole “Arsenal thing” of the Dreamcast period.

We’re so afraid of Flickr copyright lunatics we’re embedding this remotely. If you’re reading this in 2014 and the image isn’t there, it’s someone else’s fault:

“Seems that SEGA is sponsoring our local football club’s childrens sports day. Don’t forget your super soakers!” – Chris.
